Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare professionals in providing patient care.
- Perform administrative and clinical duties.
- Prepare patients for examinations.
- Take patient medical histories and vital signs.
- Administer medications and injections as directed.
- Perform basic laboratory tests.
- Maintain medical records.
- Provide patient education and support.
Requirements
- Certificate from a medical assistant training program accredited by Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) of the American Medical Technologists or a formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces.
- Current certification as a medical assistant by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or American Medical Technologists (AMT).
- Hands-on Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA or ARC.
- Six months of experience as a Medical Assistant after graduation.
- U.S. citizenship.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Physical capability to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time and perform all required services.
