Cuts bark spots, knots, and diseased and decayed portions from logs or wood blocks, using spudder, ax, hatchet, or portable power saw, to prepare wood for further processing. Turns logs and blocks with peavey to expose underside. May straighten logs on conveyor, using pike pole. May load cleaned blocks on conveyors.
