What does a Watch Manufacturing Supervisor do?
Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in watch manufacture or assembly, such as hairspring manufacture, balance assembly, or dial manufacture, applying knowledge of watch manufacturing: Computes labor and machine requirements based on work schedules, and assigns work accordingly. Sets up machines [MACHINE SETTER] and instructs personnel in machine operation. Compares product with blueprint or other specifications, and makes or directs changes in setup to keep product within specified tolerances. Performs duties as described under SUPERVISOR Master Title. May supervise workers who are responsible for particular operation or phase of watch assembly or parts manufacture. May be designated according to operations supervised as Watch Balance Assembly Manufacturing Supervisor; Watch Hairspring Manufacturing Supervisor; Watch Metal Dial Manufacturing Supervisor.
