What does a Stock Grader do?
Appraises and cuts planed lumber to width or length to obtain clear-faced pieces: Adjusts stops of cutoff saw or ripsaw to required distances. Starts machine and inspects lumber stock for imperfections. Pushes lumber past saw, cutting away undesired parts and cutting acceptable pieces to desired lengths or widths. May be designated according to type of saw used as Cut-Off-Saw Grader; Ripsaw Grader.
