What does a Spark Plug Assembler do?
Assembles components to make spark plugs: Selects base and model according to type of plug to be assembled. Dips end of central electrode in cement and inserts electrode into porcelain insulator. Screws caps over threaded ends of electrodes to form posts for wire connections. Places metal gasket over outer end of porcelain insulator and inserts assembly into metal base. Crimps metal base around insulator, using machine.
